...we take care of our fish stocks to ensure our fisheries remain viable for our future generations.
Growing up on a small farm on the coast at Omaio in Te Whanau a Apanui instilled in me a strong sense of sustainable development where as kids with our grandmother we would regularly go diving and fishing where as soon as our kete were full she would say to us ‘kāti’ (that’s enough).
50 years on this remains one of the biggest challenges for our Ngati Porou Seafood business and that is that we take care of our fish stocks to ensure our fisheries remain viable for our future generations.
Educated in Commerce and Strategy in New Zealand and the worlds best business schools and with many years practical experience in New Zealand’s fishing, forestry, agriculture and horticulture and geothermal energy industries with governance roles in a number of these industries, equips me with a strong set of skills and expertise to help guide and sustainably grow our business out over the next 50 years and beyond.
I am currently a doctoral student (Leadership in Sustainable development).
